Ingredients

For Beetroot Paste

  • 2 tsp oil
  • 1 chilli, slit
  • 1/2 tsp ginger paste
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1 1/2 cup beetroot
  • 1/2 tsp salt

For Dough

  • 2 cup of wheat flour
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 2 tbsp coriander leaves, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp dry mango powder
  • 1/2 tsp carom seeds
  • 1 tsp oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt

For Beetroot Paste

  • Firstly, in a pan, add oil, green chilli and ginger paste. Saute well.
  • Now add grated beetroot and salt. Saute well until half cooked.
  • Then, add water. Cover and cook for around 10-12 mins.
  • After it is cooked turn off the flame and let it cool completely.
  • Once it is completely cooled, transfer it into a blender jar.
  • Blend well until a smooth paste. Keep aside for further use.

For Dough

  • Take a big bowl to mix everything, and add wheat flour, cumin seeds, garam masala, dry mango powder, carom seeds, and salt. Mix well.
  • Now, add prepared beetroot paste, chopped coriander leaves, and oil.
  • Knead the soft and smooth dough. Add water if required.
  • Now grease it with oil and let the dough rest for 15 minutes.
  • To make paratha, pinch a ball sized dough. Roll and flatten it.
  • Place it on a rolling board, dust it with some wheat flour and roll it with a rolling pin in a thick circle like paratha.
  • Now place it on a hot Tawa and cook for 1 minute.
  • After that, flip it and cook another side for 1 minute.
  • Then spread oil or ghee and slightly press both sides.
  • Flip again until both the sides are cooked completely.
  • Transfer it to a serving plate.
  • Repeat this process to make chapati with the remaining dough.

The beetroot ka paratha is ready to serve. Serve it with raita and pickle.
